"These sigvaris stockings are by far the most comfortable support socks I’ve ever worn — and I’ve been wearing them for decades in a somewhat futile attempt to control primary lymphedema. (Wrapping the legs works better at controlling the swelling, but finding shoes in EEEEE width is difficult, and finding ones that aren’t ugly as sin is impossible.) Ames Walker is also quick to ship, an advantage over some other companies."

New sigvaris

"Tried the new silicone band 40-50 open toe, calf high compression stockings after 30+ years of wearing (progressively higher compression) sigvaris 504. The new product is nylon/spandex rather than the 504's latex, with a band of silicone beads in the calf cuff. Compression feels fine and seemed to control my peripheral edema in the usual way, though whether the spandex will be as durable as the latex will have to be seen. The fabric is a bit slippery relative to latex so its not quite as easy to maneuver with the (sigvaris) donning gloves. The size that I got (m1) is the most comparable to the S3 that I normally wear, but it is wider at the ankle (though that didn't seem to affect compression). It's a bit longer in the foot than the S3. The silicone band did indeed not roll at all (which has been a problem for me with the 504), but the toe edge crept us my foot repeatedly during the day to a much greater extent than the 504 - maybe they need to put silicone beads at the bottom as well as at the top.."
