Too Tight at the Top

"The X-Large size seems smaller than the Large size I usually wear. The socks are thumb-dislocatingly hard to put on. Once on, the socks feel OK and do look nice. The fabric is more sheer than I expected, but that's OK. The real problem is that the band around the top is far too tight. It cuts into my skin and is painful after a few hours. Given that these are "travel" socks, you would be in real trouble on a long airplane flight where you would not have access to scissors to cut the band. I bought two pairs and have not figured out yet how to return the unopened one."

"They were really comfortable in a 8,5 hr flight, with frequent walks around the plane. They were a bit tight right by the knees, so I cut 2 small, ca 1” jacks in them, which relieved the tightness. My legs are neither skinny nor fat."
