Artificial Blood: Fact Or Fiction?

It’s easy to say that surely if we had artificial blood then we wouldn’t have to donate any. Not true. Although as we can see in this educational page from the science page of How Stuff Works artificial blood exists, it’s not nearly close enough to human blood for medical purposes and is usually only used in emergencies. There is no real substitute. Real human blood is the only thing that will do for lasting therapy and cure of many disorders.
